TAAFIgoers FAQ

What does it cost to attend?
It depends on how much TAAFIing you want to do, buy the Pass ($99) and TAAFI all weekend, or buy individual tickets for workshops, events and films ranging in price from $5 - $20.  Pitch-a-Palooza is $90 and the Sunday Master Classes with Chris Landreth and John Kricfalusi are $45 and $90 respectively.

Where do I pick up the tickets or Pass that I have ordered online?
At theTIFF Bell Lightbox at Reitman Square on the north-west corner of King and John Streets (350 King Street West).

Why isn't the Family Screening and Workshop at NFB Meditheque listed on the TIFF Online Tickets page?
Tickets for this special family copresentation must be reserved by contacting the NFB Mediatheque Box Office at 416-973-3012. 

Can I get tickets for the NFB Screening in person at the TIFF Box Office?
No, you must reserve tickets for this screening by calling  416-973-3012.

Does having a Pass guarantee seating?
No, following purchase you must call the TIFF Box Office at 416-599-TIFF (8433) or visit in person to secure seating for those events you wish to attend. 

I bought my Pass, so why do I need tickets?
The Pass entitles you to attend most of the workshops and films, but in order to enter the theatres and learning studios, you must have a ticket. Further, if you do not secure your tickets the Box Office will not know to reserve your seat on the day of the event.

You can book your individual tickets by either calling the TIFF box office at 416-599-TIFF (8433)or going there in person.

Is there a fee for ordering online or on the phone?
Yes there is, it depends on how much TAAFIing you are doing!  There is no service fee when you purchase from the box office in person.

When do the theatre box offices at each venue open for Same Day Ticket Sales?
The TIFF Bell Lightbox is open 8:00am to 12:00am daily and the box office located just inside the main doors is open from 10:00am to 10:00pm daily.  

Do you have free or discounted tickets for students and seniors?
We don’t have discounted student or senior ticket prices. We priced the tickets very competitively in this our inaugural year so prices are already similar to many available student or senior discounts.

Can I share my Pass?
No, the Pass is non-transferable. Please bring ID to identify yourself as the Pass-holder.  

Do I need to wear my Pass?
Yes, but it looks cool and identifies you as a TAAFIgoer!

Do you offer group discounts?
Yes, when you purchase 20 or more tickets from the TIFF Box Office, you receive a 33% discount. When you purchase 11 or more Passes from the TIFF Box Office, you will receive a 10% discount.NFB standard group discounts apply.

What do you offer for children?
Children will enjoy the Almost Naked Animals Live Script Read presented by 9 Story in partnership with ACTRA (only $5) and the programming the NFB (also only $5/child and FREE for accompanying adults). 

Which screenings and workshops are not appropriate for children?
Please pay special attention to each of the ratings indicating age appropriateness for attendance. Ronal the Barbarian is an 18A film and large portion of the screenings are listed as AA (Adult Accompaniment).

Do you have travel packages?
We have arranged 10% discounts with WestJet airlines  and VIA Rail. More info is coming soon but please contact us to find out more.

Is the festival wheelchair accessible?
All spaces at the TIFF Bell Lightbox including the cinemas, are fully wheelchair accessible. Customers requiring wheelchair access should contact the Festival Box Office in advance by calling 416-599-TIFF
or toll-free at 1-888-599-8433. 

The NFB Mediatheque has an accessible entrance on John Street (north of the main entrance), all the facilities in the building are accessible.  

The Nelvana Bouncing Ball, a TAAFI Party, being held at Maro, is wheelchair accessible but customers requiring access are encouraged to contact us so we can make accommodations.

How do I volunteer?
Thank you for asking, we love volunteers!  Please contact our volunteer coordinator in advance of the festival.

I lost an item at the Festival. Do you have it?
We’re not sure!  Please check with the TIFF Bell Lightbox or the NFB Mediatheque about any lost items on their premises.  TAAFI cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.  

What methods of payment do you accept?
Over the phone and online, we accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

What is TAAFI’s refund policy?
All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges are permitted. Please remember to check your online order before it is submitted to ensure accuracy, and be sure to check your tickets upon pick-up.
