I’d always wanted to do a show where music was a central theme, and when GLEE took off like a rocketship, I gained a bit of confidence and started pitching it.  Luckily, Chuck Gammage was immediately on board with the idea.  The show idea was basically The Wonder Years meets punk Rock with a dash of a teen angst and romance. -Sam Chou
