ACME Digital Pictures is a post production studio that specializes in quality animation. In one of their most recent projects they work with Wide-Eyed Entertainment and Discovery Channel to investigate the dark corners of the laboratory and uncover what happens when extreme measures are taken to achieve a scientific breakthrough.
Season One explored subjects such as the Philadelphia Experiment, Corpse Reanimation and what really happened to Einstein’s Brain. The artistic vision for the series called for an understated surreal quality which ACME designed, created and implemented, including the virtual sets for over 90 purely CG environments. ACME then composited the live action elements into those sets, totaling over 180 minutes of finished film. In addition, ACME created numerous historically photo-real CG shots to contextualize the visually stunning stories of these mad inventors. The epic success of Season One spawned a larger second season with over double the number of episodes! The series can be seen in Canada on Discovery Science and worldwide on the DCI network of channels.
