TAAFI's first annual "Welcome To The Animation Industry" Party packed in nearly 600 guests at the Berkeley Church!

Student Group shotThe evening kicked off with a warm welcome from newly appointed Executive Director, Ben McEvoy. After presenting the TAAFI 2013 poster illustrated by TINMAN Creative Studios. Mention of each Ontario school brought cheers from students and alumni in attendance: Max the Mutt, St. Clair, Loyalist, Sheridan, Cambrian, Durham Collge, Seneca, OCAD, Humber, Centennial...some students traveled from as far away as Sudbury to kick off their entrace into the industry!

Iron Pencil TAAFI's first "Iron Pencil" competition, hosted by Lauri Lewis of Toons On Tap and featuring model and dancer Charlie Quinn, in a costumed life drawing session. Two artists sketched head to head in 5 minute rounds, with the winner chosen by our drawing model, Ms. Quinn. The competing artists stood at easels facing Ms. Quinn with their work bravely facing the audience, while an enthusiastic audience of artists sketched by the sidelines. A crowd pleaser of an event, we hope to make "Iron Pencil" a tradition.

Graduating students recieved amazing exposure throughout the evening. Besides the opportunity to make new friends and network with Industry professionals, the TAAFI Digital Yearbook displayed student work on monitors all around the venue, all night (now viewable online).
