BENTO MISO: DEVELOPING COMMUNITY & TECH
BENTO MISO: DEVELOPING COMMUNITY & TECH
Synopsis
Bento Miso is a collaborative community of more than 150 practitioners working in games, media and Web-based technology. This community fills the creative space between businesses and arts service organizations. Over the past four years, Miso has been a thriving, not-for-profit organization that represents and shares a vast range of skills, and a platform for testing and practicing techniques for individual and community sustainability. Miso co-founder Henry Faber will explore the fabric of this community. He’ll discuss what collaboration *really* looks like and how Miso’s members have built strong bonds with diverse groups across Toronto. He’ll challenge popular ideas about building and maintaining inclusive, goal-oriented community spaces, and the role that animation and new technology (such as VR) plays in Miso’s continual development.
