Where do I watch the films? And do I have to buy a pass or a ticket?
You watch films online on Trickfilm website! You can buy a PASS to watch them all, over the period of a week. You can also watch everything in-person at Hot Docs Cinemas in Toronto, 506 Bloor St W. Get a pass to watch it ALL LIVE, or buy a ticket to whatever you want.
I bought a ticket but I can't unlock the screening. What's the deal?
Make sure you are using the same email and password you used to buy the ticket. If you create a different password or are using a different email the site doesn't know you have tickets. Check yourself before you Shrek yourself.
Where can I view the full schedule?

The event will be held in the Eastern Standard time zone (EDT).
Is the festival online or in-person or both this year? I'm confused.
It's okay little buddy. All the shorts screenings are BOTH in-person AND online. You can both stream AND watch the screenings at exactly the same time. You can also go back and watch the online screenings after if you miss something. An In-person pass INCLUDES the online access. Neat right!
Also some screenings are ONLY in-person, or ONLY online. We tried to make it super clear with PINK buttons for in-person, and BLUE for online.
Why can't I unlock or reserve features?
The features this year have capacity locks. So to make sure people don't reserve a ticket and then not show up, we've made it so the first 400 or 500 people who show up get into Wolfwalkers, The Croods: A New Age, or Heavy Metal. Be on time and I'm sure you'll get a spot.
What is Discord and why do people talk about it?
Discord is like a big chatroom where TAAFI Film Festival attendees can message each other, chat on various topics, and have video chats with each other. It's great.
Can anyone attend the VIP Mixer?
Only General Pass Holders, Sponsors, Filmmakers and Organizers can attend. Single ticket holders or Student Pass holders cannot attend. Sorry friend.
Can I watch screenings after?
YES. But there's a catch. You have to reserve a ticket, or unlock the screening. Then you have one week (7 days) to watch it.
Can I attend from anywhere in the world?
Yup!
