We here at the Toronto Animation Arts Festival International (TAAFI) get a lot of questions about our festivals and events. While we do our best to convey information through our social media platforms, newsletters, and advertising– sometimes stuff gets lost along the way, so here’s a handy-dandy F.A.Q. to help you on your way! The Toronto Animation Arts Festival International, or TAAFI, is the animation festival that welcomes a massive audience of talented professionals, students, studios and enthusiasts, year after year.

TAAFI’s Mission is to showcase incredible animation and the creators behind it. TAAFI is a local reunion for global animation.

TAAFI has evolved into an unforgettable event in the international animation landscape with distinct events and audiences held throughout the year. We aim to showcase and invigorate the passion in animation.

We are a completely volunteer-run not-for-profit organization that is crazily passionate about animation, cartoons, and the people who make them.

Where is the festival located?

TAAFI 2026 will be hosted at the TIFF Lightbox located 350 King St W, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5.

What do TAAFI VIP Passes offer?

How can I guarantee that I get a screening ticket?

You’re in luck! VIP Mega and VIP Festival Passes already guarantee a ticket to every screening, you won’t need to reserve them ahead of time!

I just got my pass– where / how do I access my tickets?

Festival and MEGA PASS holders will receive an email from TAAFI providing a code and link. The code will allow you to redeem up to 1 ticket for every screening you want to attend. These tickets are on a first-come first-served basis. A regular Festival and MEGA PASS does not guarantee a ticket to every screening; only to screenings you select during this reservation process. Along with reserving your tickets online via the provided code, you can still choose to either book your screening reservations over the phone or in-person at the TIFF Lightbox’s box office.

The tickets you reserve through the code are part of the Festival and MEGA PASS offerings, there is no additional cost.


On April 1st, at 12pm EDT, reservations for tickets will go live.

How do I access my tickets?

You can access your tickets through TIFF Account Manager on your mobile device.

If you still need some help, please follow the steps provided below:

  1. Sign in toTIFF Account Manager

  2. Once logged in, tap the menu on the top left.

  3. From the menu, select My Events.

  4. Find your event and click View Event Details.

  5. Under Tickets, select your seat.


Tickets can be scanned directly from TIFF Account Manager or added to your mobile wallet.

Can I buy separate tickets for film blocks for Film Festival?

You certainly can!

Are tickets refundable?

Unfortunately tickets for our events are non-refundable; but there is a silver lining! Check out the answer below to get the answers.

Can I trade my tickets or give someone else my ticket instead?

Absolutely! Tickets can be transferred up to 15 minutes before a screening’s start time. If you think you can’t attend, or need to trade tickets with somebody else, you can do so through Ticketmaster. – or just send us an email at info@taafi.com and we can help you out!Please note that the transfer is only complete once the recipient accepts the tickets. If your recipient does not accept your ticket offer, they will not be able to use your tickets. Tickets must be accepted 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the event!

Your recipient will receive an email from TIFF Customer Relations with instructions to accept the offer. Your recipient must have an TIFF account to accept the tickets. Please note that if needed; You may also cancel your transfer through the link in your transfer confirmation email.

To transfer your tickets, please follow the steps provided below:

  1. Sign in to TIFF Account Manager.

  2. Click My Events and select your event by clicking View Event Details.

  3. Click Transfer. You may need to authenticate your account by phone or email. You will be sent a One Time Code to input.

  4. Select the seat or seats to transfer.

  5. Select an existing recipient or add a New Recipient and fill in their information. Click Save.

  6. Select your recipient and click Transfer. You can add an optional message to your recipient. Do not add any special characters to the message, this could cause the tickets to not be delivered to the recipient.

How do I use my promo code?

Don't worry, this is really easy! In order to purchase a TAAFI pass or ticket with a promo code on TIFF Account Manager, please follow the steps provided below:

  1. Sign in to TIFF Account Manager.

  2. From the menu at the top of the screen select Buy Tickets

  3. From the drop down, choose 3rd Party Festivals and Rentals.

  4. Under TAAFI 2026 select Buy Tickets.

  5. Enter the promo code in the Promo Code box above the list of passes and events. If on a mobile device, click on the Filter button (a square with three lines inside) to view the Promo Code box. Once the Promo Code has been entered, click Apply. This will pull up the applicable events and price types.

    To apply a different promo code, or remove your current promo code, click the X next to the existing promo code.

  6. Search the list of events. Beneath your desired event click the + and - buttons to choose your desired number of passes and/or tickets.

  7. Once you have selected all desired events, click Add to Cart.

  8. Click the cart icon in the top right.

  9. Proceed through checkout

What if I want to change my seat?

You can absolutely do that! If you’d like to move your seat location then you can exchange your current seat ticket for another through the TIFF Account Manager. Exchanges are only available for the same show, and can not be used to change the initial show reservation. Only the seat.


Please note that exchanges must happen 4 hours prior to your event and can be done so online. 

To exchange your tickets, please follow the steps provided below:

  1. Sign in to TIFF Account Manager.

  2. Click My Events and select your event by clicking View Event Details.

  3. Click Exchange.

  4. Select the seat(s) to exchange.

  5. Select a new event from the list.

  6. Choose a seat from the interactive seat map and click Add to Cart.

  7. Review the details of your exchange.

  8. Submit your order.

Can I print my tickets at the box office?

Yes you can, TIFF Customer Relations staff at the Steve & Rashmi Gupta Box Office in the TIFF Lightbox at 350 King St W, are happy to help you print or text your tickets directly to your phone.


Please note, that in order to keep your account secure, TIFF asks you to please bring a piece of government-issued photo ID when picking up tickets or accessing your account in person.

Can I buy tickets over the phone or in person?

Yes, you can buy tickets both over the phone or in person! TIFF Customer Relations is available to assist with ticket sales and inquiries both in person at the Steve & Rashmi Gupta Box Office in the TIFF Lightbox at 350 King St W, and over the phone through our Customer Relations Call Centre. Please note that TIFF, in order to keep your account secure, will ask a few quick security questions to confirm it’s you.

How do I log in to TIFF Account Manager?

We understand this can be a bit confusing, in order to access your tickets you will first have to visit TIFF Account Manager. Once there, you will need to click the Sign In button located in the top right corner.


Please note that if  your email has not been used with Ticketmaster before, you will need to sign up before you can access your tickets. Don’t panic though! We understand this can be confusing so we have provided you with step-by-step instructions on how to sign up and access your tickets. 

To sign up to TIFF Account Manager, please follow the steps provided below:

  1. Visit TIFF Account Manager and click Sign In. If your email is not connected to an existing account, you will be prompted to sign up.

  2. Enter your information and create a password. 

    1. Note: You will need to verify both your email and phone number to complete the account creation.

  3. Once the account is activated, you will be prompted to accept the Terms & Conditions.

    1. Please ensure you scroll to the bottom of both tabs of the pop-up window (Ticketmaster and TIFF).

  4. Once completed, you can now access your tickets. To access your tickets navigate to My Events and locate your event. Click View Event Details.

  5. Select your ticket(s). This will pull up a digital barcode that can be scanned by our team. If you are logged in on your mobile device, you will also have the option to add your tickets to your digital wallet.

When does volunteering open up?
What do volunteers get?

Volunteer applications open in February. As for why you should volunteer? Why, TAAFI is run entirely by volunteers! If it weren’t for all the tireless hard work from passionate folks whose love for animation and the industry as a whole, there wouldn’t even be a TAAFI! So if you share those same sensibilities, you’d probably be a perfect fit!

Plus, volunteers get FULL ACCESS to the event and a free t-shirt.

Are service dogs and other assistive means allowed?

Generally yes! Although we strive to find venues with accessibility options, as well as those that allow for assistive means like service dogs, we do highly recommend checking the resources online to make certain those accommodations can be met.
