Marguerite Pigott
Marguerite Pigott is Film Commissioner and Director of Entertainment Industries for the City of Toronto,
responsible for the City’s support of the film and television production, music, creative technology, and
tourism industries. She also serves as Chair of Canadian Film and Television Commissions. Previously,
Marguerite was Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the Canadian Media Producers Association,
while concurrently serving as Vice Chair of Ontario Creates, an agency of the Province of Ontario
focused on support of the creative industries. Prior to the CMPA, Marguerite was Head of Creative
Development for the national pay television broadcaster Super Channel, where she oversaw original
production and led the investment of Super Channel’s development fund. Marguerite also served as
Vice President of Development and Production for Odeon Films, An Alliance Atlantis Company, where
she Executive Produced many feature films, including Fubar, Saint Ralph, and way downtown.
For theToronto International Film Festival, Marguerite programmed the Canadian selection for the 2006 and 2007 festivals.
