Another marvelous feature is coming to this year’s Mega Fest! Sunburnt Unicorn is a feature-length animated film written and directed by Calgary-native cartoonist Nick Johnson and presented in association with Squid Brain Studios and New Machine Studios! 

Inspired by the family-adventure films of the 1980s, such as Return to Oz, The Neverending Story, and The Secret of Nimh, this charming animated coming-of-age tale is the perfect fit for all our wonderful attendees who love the fantasy genre!

Lost in an endless desert, an injured teenager adopts the identity of a mythical Unicorn to survive surreal encounters and rescue his father from the Cactus King.
