Alberto Rodríguez
Alberto Rodríguez is an animation industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, having worked as a Film Director (animated feature films), Animation Director (feature films), episode director, and animation supervisor for television. Recognized for his storytelling and artistic vision, he was nominated in 2009 for an Academy Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his graduation film, created while completing an MA in Animation Film Direction at the National Film and TV School.
For the past two years, Alberto has been directing episodes for upcoming Disney Junior series. Previously, he co-directed episodes of the award‑winning TV show Pocoyo.
As a film director, he helmed Ozzy, the first commercial feature film produced in Blender and distributed by Buena Vista International (Disney). He also served as Animation Director for Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow and Ooops! Two: The Adventure Continues, leading animation teams distributed across multiple studios and countries. His responsibilities spanned the creative process as well as the hiring, structuring, and optimization of production workflows.
Earlier in his career, Alberto worked as a CG Supervisor, combining technical expertise with strong narrative instincts. Beyond studio productions, he is passionate about personal projects, including Nut Birds and Ray, a live‑action short film. He also directed the short The Wrong Glasses and authored 3D Animation Projects, a book detailing its creative and technical development.
Having lived in multiple cities around the world, Alberto brings a global perspective to his work and consistently strives to push creative and technical boundaries in animation and storytelling.
