Noushin Emami & Alice Roncier
Studio Neera was co-founded in 2024 by Noushin Emami (she/her) and Alice Roncier/APPi (they/them). as an independent 2D Animation House, dedicated to preserving folk stories, our planet and its people vanishing arts & cultures.
United by their search for peace, freedom and creativity, Noushin and APPi create and produce stories rooted in truth, hope and respect.
Together, they make a powerful duo, APPi living in the present and Noushin always looking foward.
Neera's first short, RAZOR RUCKUS (2024), received, among other selections, the Director's Prize at Oscar-qualifying Canadian Festival: SPARK ANIMATION. A sequel is currently in development: FLAMME FATALE (2026). Their second short, CAKE COMPETITION was selected in festivals around the world.
Their next project, written and directed by Emami, is a 2D animated feature film called Carpet Weavers, currently looking for funding for development.
Studio Neera creates independent animation on the traditional and unceded territory of the Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh nations known as ”Vancouver, Canada”.
